Devlog 3


In this update I made a brand new map called the poison map.  I made this map because I wanted to reflect a emotion I have always dealt with when it came to playing any type of game. As a child I was obsessed with platformer games.  My favorite being Sonic the Hedgehog. When it comes to Sonic games I have always had a hard time finishing them and never got to the end most of the time. I raged so many times and even stopped playing them for months! But I never completely  gave up on them. These games made me determine to finish them regardless of how hard they were to me back then.  So, when i finally unlocked the final boss in Sonic Heroes and won was the day I felt like my determination was awarded.  To this day Sonic Heroes has a place in my heart and is one of my inspiration  for wanting to be a game designer. This map is based off what I had to deal with that built my determination. I want players to feel determined to reach the end regardless of how long it takes for them to reach the end. 

After playtesting I need to fix many things including programing many of the traps. The emotion that the player felt were close to what I wanted. However in order for it to fully feel like that making the level gradually get harder might help.

Things to improve the game:

1. Make the platforms more unified.

2. Fix the last platform on main path.

3. fix the spike traps on main path.

4. fix the texture to look more like a temple.

5. Add more traps to make it gradually harder.

6. Add checkpoints.
